Maybe you did not know that Microsoft  Windows has its own smart phone platform?  It took a long time for Windows to come up with a smart phone platform, but once they did, development proceeded quickly. The Windows 7 smart phone operating system hit the market at the end of 2010 in Europe and Asia and a shortly later in the US. Right now the Windows 7 smart phone platform holds about 3% of the mobile operating platform market.

The Windows Phone 7 platform is compatible with many types of smart phone designs. The Windows phone operating system  offers most of the capabilities as do other operating systems and is currently available on Dell, LG,  HTC and Samsung phones with others such as Nokia working out compatible phones. The user interface is called Metro and relies on a series of tiles to access apps, messaging, music and so on. These tiles are customizable and updated automatically. These tiles are then grouped into hubs. Another feature of the Windows Phone 7 operating system is that it utilizes a darker display, meaning running an app automatically uses less battery power.

Perhaps the top of the line Windows 7 Phone is the HTC Trophy. This phone works well with Microsoft Office and Zune and is stylish and small, about 5 inches long and less than a half inch thick. The HTC trophy also come with and comes with a large 3.8 inch touch screen making it an excellent choice for fans of X Box Live. The platform is also known for its roam-ability; it functions in over 200 countries.
